As a software company, we have worked intensively with the energy company Pure Energie in recent years to develop various applications. This client is in a sector subject to constant change. The introduction of a price cap by the government, rapidly rising energy prices and the transition to dynamic energy prices due to the energy transition have completely turned the energy market upside down. These changes had a direct impact on the digital landscape, as we had to react quickly and implement the necessary logic in the applications.

Optimising the choice engine.

Our decision to set up an API-driven landscape for Pure Energie yielded positive results. This enabled us to seamlessly integrate the government's price cap into their applications, while complying with regulations without hampering the user experience. Moreover, the flexibility of the new system allowed us to react quickly to rising energy prices. We adjusted contracts and developed new tariff structures that helped customers optimise their energy consumption.

In the digital landscape, we have implemented several choice engines that allow users to create and conclude their energy contract step by step. Behind the scenes, we perform extensive calculations within the Data Management Platform (DMP) to accurately determine the price structure and present conclusions. Compared to other suppliers, Pure Energie manages to show the price structure in detail and at the same time in an understandable way. Pure Energie's customers give a lot of positive feedback on this.

However, the ongoing changes in the energy market did lead us to reconsider the existing logic within our application, especially for the choice engine and associated calculations. We carefully considered how to integrate the new requirements and dynamic energy prices, taking into account the price cap imposed by the government. To respond adequately to this complex challenge, we rewrote the code of this logic. In this way, we can ensure that the growing demands for flexibility are met. This will allow Pure Energie to benefit even more in the future and act more appropriately when market conditions change.
