An unforgettable Cube Weekend: Joost and Jenne share their experiences.

Day 1: Electrocrossing, barbecue(b)e and socialising.

• On the road with the Beatbuzz where the Cube-Spotify playlist set the mood right away.

• Finding the challenge in Brabant where we gassed up on the electrocross circuit.

• Arriving at our amazing accommodation, unpacking together and the die-hards dove into the "heated" pool.

• The barbeque(b)e was lit, the food put on the table and the evening filled with karaoke, dancing and a delicious campfire kicked off.

Friday morning started, like any other working day, with a queue in front of the coffee machine. But at that very moment, the machine decided to clean itself extensively, so everyone had to wait just that little bit longer for their first cup of caffeine. Fortunately, with a fresh cup of coffee in hand, we were able to leave on time for Wanroij, Brabant, in good spirits. On the way, the atmosphere was good right away: A shared Spotify playlist, games, currant buns, coffees by barista Ties and lots of laughter.

Once they arrived, the real excitement began: a ride on the electrocross circuit was scheduled. Joost couldn't wait to go full throttle, while Jenne stood beside her vehicle with slightly less confidence. It's up to the reader to guess who ended up flying out of the corner in front of the entire Cube team... (Spoiler: Jenne). Fortunately, it was limited to some buckling knees.

Beautiful location with fantastic views.

After an extra round of cruising, we enjoyed a communal lunch where green rascals were not missing. We continued on to Spa, Belgium, where the necessary sing-alongs, games and lots of laughter completed the atmosphere en route. Arrival at the accommodation was one big surprise: a beautiful location with fantastic views and luxurious facilities. After everything was unloaded, we enthusiastically started distributing the rooms. There was no time to waste, as the heated pool did look very attractive. At least, 'heated' turned out to be a relative term when Joost jumped into the ice-cold water with a somersault. Jenne wisely opted for a slow approach, but unfortunately that did not make the water any less intense. The cold was defied and many bombs and somersaults later, everyone got ready for the evening.

Barbecu(b)e and karaoke.

The barbecue(b)e was lit by grillmaster Mikal and the party could begin. From vega, fish and meat, everything was ready. The karaoke set up was set up and although some were already known as notorious karaoke performers, we also saw new talents emerge. Jenne and her fellow Rihanna fanatic gave a great performance, while Joost showcased his dance moves. The atmosphere was great; from dancing and singing to cosy chats by the campfire and playing the game 'Werewolves' by candlelight. For some, the evening continued into the early hours, with great memories and stories that were still laughingly recounted the next morning.

Day 2: Archery, Stepping and Cube Clash Mini-Games.

• Wake up quietly by the pool or with a walk to Spa F1 circuit - each at their own pace.

• Off archery or on a scooter through the Ardennes: Steep hills, challenging trails and brisk speeds.

• Celebrate on the sunny terrace with a drink, sunshine and each other's stories.

• From catching water balloons to 30-seconds, everyone showed their competitive side in the Cube Clash Mini-Games.

• Nostalgic hits in Liege.

The morning started a bit rough for many due to the long night, but that was not to spoil the fun. Joost set off full of energy for a walk to the famous Spa F1 circuit, while Jenne unfortunately missed the morning activity (running) and preferred a relaxing dip in the 'heated' swimming pool. Benefit? She was instantly wide awake. While sunbathing, everyone enjoyed the beautiful view until we could start the afternoon activities: archery and electric scooters through the hilly Ardennes.

Adrenalinekicks, pizza en cube-clash.

Joost and Jenne opted for scooting and although the views were beautiful, it still proved to be quite a challenge. Downhill with large stones on the paths caused a few squeals from Jenne and it was also an intense ride for Joost as he was assigned a faulty scooter that barely reached 10 km/h. A minor collision later, a guilt-ridden colleague and a few scrapes later, we still managed to complete the route and return to Stavelot.

The afternoon ended on the terrace where we enjoyed the last rays of sunshine, the adrenaline rush and great stories from everyone. After eating a pizza, all the newcomers had to give a speech and then we went back to the accommodation to start the 'Cube Clash mini-games'. An evening of games in which different skills were tested. The outfits spoke for themselves: Joost completely in sporty Cube style and Jenne in her Zeeman outfit. The games ranged from 'two truths one lie' to catching water balloons (where one snapped in Jenne's face), stacking cups and 30-seconds. Of course, only one team could win and that was Jenne's 'just-not' team. The prize? No more chores for the rest of the year!

Afterwards, the evening continued, partly in the accommodation where a number of colleagues immersed themselves in the game Werewolves and sat around the campfire. Joost and Jenne were still in the mood for some dancing so they joined the Beatbuzz to Liege for another night of dancing. In an empty bar with enthusiastic staff, the Cube team took over the entertainment and made sure the bar soon filled up. The atmosphere was good and the bar turned a nice turnover that night ;). It was a fun night full of great moments, with everyone dancing to nostalgic hits like Firework and Ch!pz in Black.

On the way back to the taxi, the real team bonding took place between Jenne and Joost: Jenne was suffering from her injured foot and, noble as Joost is, he carried her on shoulders to the taxi. In the taxi on the way back, it was still a challenge for some to stay calm, but in the end we arrived in one piece and upon returning to the accommodation we baked delicious (slightly too salty) eggs for everyone.

Day 3: Cleaning up and looking back on a great weekend.

• With collective strength packing up all belongings and tidying up: back to Oldenzaal.

• Playing games, cheering on FC Twente, watching F1 and recovering on the way back.

• Cleaning up together, everyone waving each other goodbye with a "See you tomorrow!" and reminiscing on a great weekend.

Sunday morning came a little too early, but with combined strength we cleared everything away and left for Oldenzaal. The way back on the bus was a bit quieter, but there was plenty of time to play games, watch FC Twente and follow the F1 race. After a short stop at the Mac, we arrived at the Cube office, where the bus was unloaded and we waved goodbye to each other with a 'See you tomorrow' as we were all back at the office working fanatically on the Monday. As newcomers, it was a weekend that exceeded our expectations. From hilarious moments to getting to know colleagues in a different way. The Cube Weekend more than lived up to its reputation and the memories made can be remembered for a long time to come.
