Just Eat Takeway, a leader in the international food delivery market that connects consumers and restaurants worldwide, faces the daily challenge of efficiently equipping their couriers worldwide. With a growing number of delivery drivers and the complexity of global operations, there was an urgent need for a digital solution that could automate this process.
Thanks to its partnership with Cube, Just Eat Takeaway has developed an automated courier portal that has efficiently optimised equipment delivery. This user-friendly platform allows delivery drivers to easily configure, order and return their equipment, which has led to significant efficiency improvements and cost savings. Scoober, the subsidiary of Just Eat Takeaway, can now supply thousands of couriers worldwide with the right equipment quickly and accurately, with manual orders replaced by an automated system, making the process faster and error-free.
The 'Scoober Equipment Portal' is an innovative and fully automated system for managing courier equipment. This platform integrates with Salesforce to retrieve delivery driver information, after which orders are processed via Commercetools and sent to various warehouses. The platform is suitable not only for remote delivery operators, but also for managers of hubs, which are gathering points in major cities where delivery operators start their operations and store their equipment. Hub operators can place large bulk orders based on growth forecasts, which are automatically handled by the Commercetools link to the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
The delivery driver can easily create an account and log into the ordering environment. During onboarding, the ordering process is explained clearly and step-by-step. The delivery driver can then create a personalised equipment package based on criteria such as mode of transport, country and clothing size. Once the package is configured, the order is automatically sent to the warehouse, where it is processed and shipped without manual intervention. The delivery driver can easily track the order status via a track & trace link. Should the equipment not fit or be damaged, the delivery driver can effortlessly request a new order or a return.
The portal has enabled Just Eat Takeaway to process more than 84,000 orders fully automatically so far, and this number continues to grow. This has not only improved operational efficiency, but also reduced costs and drastically reduced the risk of human error. Automation allows the JET team to focus more on strategic growth and global expansion.
